Finnish sauna or infrared sauna: which is right for you?
In all our wellness holiday homes you will find your own sauna. Sometimes it is a traditional Finnish sauna, sometimes a modern infrared sauna – and in some holiday homes you have both! But what is the difference?
Finnish sauna: traditional and powerful
The Finnish sauna heats the air to around 80–100 °C. Your body will sweat profusely, which will remove waste products. The dry heat is good for your skin, your blood circulation and gives you a clear head. Perfect if you like that authentic, warm sauna experience.
Infrared sauna: deep and targeted
The infrared sauna works differently. Instead of the air, infrared radiation directly heats your muscles and joints. The temperature is lower (around 50–60 °C), but the heat penetrates deeper. This makes this sauna ideal for muscle pain or joint complaints – or if you are looking for relaxation without the extreme heat.
